Daily Warm Up for Tuesday, 11/30

In class today . . .

2. read through it, and click on the links for:

“Lauda Jerusalem”

“Concerto in F 'Autumn'”

“The mysterious barricades” (for this one, just be able to identify the dominant instrument)


3. TAKE NOTES! LABEL THOSE NOTES "BAROQUE MUSIC NOTES." THEY WILL BE #22 IN YOUR INDEX. YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO RECOGNIZE AND BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY EACH OF THESE PIECES OF MUSIC FOR YOUR BAROQUE QUIZ

For the first three, you will need to know:

THE NAME OF THE PIECE, and

THE COMPOSER


And . . .

4. Write 5 quiz questions based on the reading!

Write (typed, double-spaced) at least 10 sentences (on a separate sheet of paper!) reacting to Arcimboldo's art. Do you like it? Why or why not? Do you think he fits the ideals of the Renaissance? Explain.

HW for Thursday, 11/11 and the weekend



Write 3 quiz questions based on what we learned on our tour of the National Cathedral, and 3 quiz questions based on "The Secret of Kells."

AND, prepare for Monday's quiz on Medieval art and music. You will be able to use your notes and readings, but should be familiar enough with the material that you won't need to spend much time looking through the packets during the quiz.
